The Problem: You turn on your Acer laptop and see a black screen saying "No Bootable Device."
The Short Answer: This usually means your laptop's BIOS settings have reset or it cannot find your hard drive. 90% of the time, changing the Boot Mode to "Legacy" fixes it instantly.
Quick Fixes
Method 1: Change Boot Mode (Try This First)
This is the most common reason for this error, especially after a battery drain.
- Turn off your laptop completely.
- Turn it on and immediately tap F2 repeatedly until the BIOS screen appears.
- Use the arrow keys to go to the Boot tab.
- Find Boot Mode. If it says UEFI, press Enter and change it to Legacy.
- Press F10 to Save & Exit.
Your laptop should now restart and load Windows normally.

Method 2: Check Hard Drive Connection
If Method 1 didn't work, your hard drive might be loose. This can happen if you dropped your laptop recently.
Note: Only do this if you are comfortable opening your laptop.
- Unscrew the back panel.
- Locate the hard drive (rectangular box).
- Push it firmly into its connector.
Method 3: Reset BIOS to Default
Sometimes the BIOS just needs a reset.
- Enter BIOS (tap F2 at startup).
- Go to the Exit tab.
- Select Load Setup Defaults.
- Press F10 to Save & Exit.
