Laptop Plugged In, Not Charging

The Problem: You connect the charger to your laptop. The icon shows it's plugged in, but the battery percentage isn't going up (or says "Plugged in, not charging").
The Short Answer: This is usually a battery driver glitch, not a dead battery. Reinstalling the ACPI driver fixes it 80% of the time.
Quick Fixes
Method 1: Reinstall Battery Drivers (Best Fix)
Windows sometimes forgets how to talk to the battery.
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
- Expand Batteries.
- Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
- Select Uninstall device. (Don't worry, it's safe).
- Restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall it.

Method 2: Static Discharge Reset
If your laptop has a removable battery:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Remove the battery.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Put the battery back in and turn it on.
Method 3: Cool Down Battery
Modern laptops stop charging if they get too hot to prevent explosions. If you were gaming, let it cool down for 30 minutes.
