Fix 'This PC Can't Run Windows 11' Error

The Problem: You are trying to install Windows 11, but the setup screen stops you with a vague compatibility error. This is frustrating because your PC is likely powerful enough to run it.

The Short Answer: Microsoft requires a security chip called TPM 2.0 to be active. You do not need to buy new hardware. You simply need to turn this setting on in your BIOS.

Step 1: Enter BIOS

To change these settings, you must restart your computer and enter the BIOS menu before Windows loads.

CRITICAL TIMING You must tap the BIOS key (F2, Del, or F12) immediately after restarting. If you see the spinning Windows logo, you missed the window. Restart and try tapping faster.

Restart your PC.
Immediately tap the BIOS key repeatedly.

Step 2: Enable TPM 2.0

Navigate to the Security or Advanced tab using your arrow keys.

IMPORTANT NOTE Different brands name this differently. Look for "Intel PTT" or "AMD fTPM". They are the same thing as TPM 2.0.

Find Intel PTT or AMD fTPM.
Change it to Enabled.
This satisfies the security requirement.

Step 3: Enable Secure Boot

Navigate to the Boot tab.

PRO TIP If Secure Boot is grayed out, find "CSM Support" and disable it first. Save and restart, then Secure Boot will be clickable.

Find Secure Boot.
Change it to Enabled.
Press F10 to Save & Exit.

Once you restart, try the Windows 11 installer again. It should work perfectly.
