The Problem: Your WiFi icon is active, but web pages won't load. You might see a yellow triangle or "No Internet Access."

The Short Answer: Your computer has a valid connection to the router, but the router isn't talking to the internet (or your DNS settings are stuck).

Method 1: Restart Modem

Before touching your PC, restart the main internet source.

  1. Unplug the power cable from your modem/router.
  2. Wait 60 full seconds (this drains the capacitors).
  3. Plug it back in and wait 3 minutes for it to boot.

Method 2: Flush DNS

If other devices work but yours doesn't, this command usually fixes it.

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
  4. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

Method 3: Forget Network

Sometimes the saved password or profile gets corrupted.

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi.
  • Select Manage known networks.
  • Click your WiFi name and select Forget.
  • Reconnect and enter your password again.
